Tennis and Diamonds
The idea of wearing a diamond bracelet while swinging a tennis racket back and forth may seem like a bad idea, however those who follow the sport know that even the Tennis champions of the world will wear a few diamonds even for their most important matches.
Without a doubt, the “tennis bracelet” has become a staple in any serious jewelry collections, not to mention a huge trend this year for the fashion set. There’s so many in the market now, with even more simulated styles as a price friendly alternative.
The real wink of wearing diamonds throughout any sport, is an heir of nonchalance and decadence. At RH, we love celebrating sports without compromising style. Function should always be in agreement with fashion, not instead of it. The women who do it the best in my opinion are Serena and Venus Williams. Two amazing tennis players, who always push the boundaries with their on court style. I love the image of Venus below, wearing her diamond hoops, bracelet, and ring without any concern of if it will disrupt her game.
Of course like in most high profile games, sponsors come into the mix so its hard to see the difference between personal jewelry and paid advertising. Regardless, I like to assume for the most part that the women on court trust their game enough to allow a slight diamond weight to be added to the wrist or neck.
Above, Caroline Wozniaki and Julia Goerges play independent matches with their Cartier bracelets.
While jewelry trends may come and go, the infinity line bracelet will be forever timeless. Its importance cemented through the game of Tennis, it is always a stunning piece whether it is worn on court or at a Gala.
