Recreational Habits Fall Denim Guide

FALLDENIMASTER-01.jpg

American style is synonymous with denim, if not only for its great manufacturing capabilities in the US, but also because denim is part of our western culture. From Montana cowboys to New York Fashion Week, denim has been a stable uniform for many. Each season, I find myself searching for the new staple piece to integrate into my wardrobe. In the Fall, denim becomes the foundation for any look especially as dresses, shorts, and skirts quickly disappear into the back of my summer closet. If you’re anything like me, there are 2-3 pairs of jeans that you own that you have completely worn to death and cannot live without, but you’re always searching for your next tried and true that has a different leg shape, a different detail, or something completely unique that you didn’t know you needed. This season, we’re all about the full length jean - boot cut, carrot and horseshoe silhouettes. With so many options, we did our RH thing and created an easy must have guide to carry you through Fall and Winter.

The Kendall Jenner 90’s Boot Cut

We can only imagine the amount of denim Kendall receives in PR packages daily. The equestrian/super model is known for her signature 90’s style that includes a few pairs of fierce boot cut denim. Meant to be worn on top of a boot, preferably heeled, the style elongates your leg and looks good regardless of your height.

The Horseshoe Style

Every once in a while, there comes a jean that makes us scratch our heads and wonder, really? But, like the ones prior to, we begin to think about the shape obsessively until we have nothing left to do but buy the jean! Case in point: Citizens of Humanity’s Horseshoe Jean. With such unique proportions, but with an absolutely delightful finish, we can’t help fall in love with this intellectual style. I guess everyone else had a similar inclination, since the style is SOLD OUT in most sizes. Try your hand with similar shapes from brands like Agolde.

The Vintage Vanilla Denim

Oh, Vanilla Jean, how we love and loathe you. The perfect hue is not easy to come by, and definitely changes from person to person, but the creamy color set against soft lush sweaters is the easiest way to avoid depressing moods in the winter. I’ve personally searched for the perfect vanilla jean for many years and have yet to find it.

The Cooler Mom Jean

The term “mom jean” has come a very far way with every single denim brand riffing on the style. I’ve never been a huge fan of mom jeans (I always felt like the butt looked too saggy and the leg too short), but I can understand its comfortable mom on the go appeal. For the moms, moms to be, and dog moms in the world, we introduce the cooler mom jean, a style with a longer inseam, and a few added rips to give an air of nonchalance during daycare pick up.
