To Stay

The thing that can make or break a wonderful holiday is your hotel stay and after traveling, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be a little pampered; it is a vacation after all! Below we put together our favorite hotel stays in Nashville that will not disappoint.

If you are looking for the perfect blend of style, elegance and history, The Hermitage Hotel is the place for you! It is a historic five-star Nashville hotel that opened in 1910 and never lost its charm and impeccable reputation.

If you are carving for a more modern and sleeker hotel The Joseph is right up your alley. They opened their doors in 2020 and left no stone unturned to ensure a pristine stay for their guests. With a world-class spa, rooftop pool and delicious restaurants on site, you are sure to have a tranquil stay.

Dying to take in unbeatable skyline views of the Music City? Stay at the JW Marriott Nashville! This hotel has it all and is in an unbeatable location. From a gorgeous rooftop pool deck to artfully crafted cocktail lounges, and the best steakhouse on the top floor, your stay at the JW Marriott will not disappoint.

To Eat

Is it just us or do you also plan your days around when and what you are going to eat? One of the most fun parts of exploring a new city is checking out the local eateries and tasting the flavors of the city. (Hello BBQ!) So, this isn’t exactly the city you visit when you are looking to hit the reset button on your diet, this is where you go to indulge in cornbread, barbecue, and fried pickles.

Awaken your taste buds by b-lining straight over to Prince’s Hot Chicken to, you guessed it, try their iconic hot chicken menu. Whether you like it xxxtra spicy, or maybe just want a mild zing, they have it all. You may find hot chicken at other eateries, but it all started right here over 100 years ago at Prince’s Hot Chicken

We get it, we wouldn’t dare to suggest what the best spot in Nashville for BBQ is, because we know better. When it comes to BBQ, your preferences are very personal, but we have never had a bad bite at the family-owned eatery, Edley’s Bar-B-Que. At the Thrillist exclaimed, Edley’s is pretty much the perfect combination of BBQ and the Southern tradition of meat and three.

The only thing that can rival BBQ is the authentic Jamaican and Caribbean twist on it that can only come from the incredible Chef Kamal Kalokoh and his restaurant, Riddim n Spice. You cannot go wrong with an order of their Honey Jerk Chicken, Jamaican Rice, and BBQ Jerk Jackfruit.

 To Play

There is so much to see and do in Nashville, but when we go on vacation we love to take our favorite recreational habits on the road and do them in new places! It is also an easy way to sneak in a healthy activity in-between lunches filled with cornbread and hearty southern dinners.

Gaylord Springs Golf Links is a pristine golf course and has been named the best golf course in Nashville, Tennessee, by Forbes’ Travel Guide. They also have a golf institute on the property if you want to have a lesson from a PGA professional or try out the SwingLab.

There is no better way to spend a day than in the saddle and going for trail rides through Nashville is the perfect way to explore beyond the city lights. Nashville Equine Trek offers trail rides for all levels but you do have to be 18+ so it is not suitable for children unfortunately.

Recognize your dreams of becoming a rockstar by booking studio time at Nashvox Studios and record a song; after all, you are in the Music City! Located right in Downtown Nashville, it is fun for the whole trip and will leave you with a souvenir you will never forget.

To Listen & Dance

If you visit Nashville, you must explore the music scene! They don’t call it the Music City for nothing. Before coming to town, check out which acts are lined up to make sure you don’t miss anything. You might even want to plan your trip around when your favorite act is performing. With small theaters and venues, you won’t find a better place to see your favorite artists perform live. Where to listen to music:

The Grand Ole Opry is the home of country music! The list of legends that have graced its historic stage would go on and on, from Dolly Parton to Elvis Presley to Ray Charles to Luke Combs, if only those walls could speak.

You have likely seen The Bluebird Cafe depicted in movies and TV, and its reputation for being an artist’s songwriting haven has remained strong for over 40 years. Come here, grab a drink, and listen to live music from Nashville’s up and coming talent and maybe run into a superstar working through their next unreleased hit in an intimate setting.

The Ryman is a historic music venue that previously was home to the Grand Ole Opry until they moved locations to their current venue in the early 1970’s, but music continues to find a home here. It is where Johnny Cash met June Carter, and bluegrass was born, and remains a favorite tour stop for artists from all genres due to its iconic history. Just this month (February 2022) the stage will be graced by The Beach Boys, Louis Tomlinson, The Temptations, and more!

Want to dance the night away? Head straight to Wildhorse Saloon and line dance to live music. With a welcoming atmosphere, whether this is your first time line dancing or it’s old hat to you, you are sure to have a blast.
