Sorry, Members Only.
When privacy is the ultimate luxury and the days of spending 9-5 at an office continue to seem so 2019, private members clubs have swooped in to offer its members a community of like-minded individuals and a home away from home. For those looking to rub shoulders with creative elites, always have a restaurant table, or are just looking for somewhere to work besides their own couch, we scouted the best and newest members only clubs in the nation worth joining.
The Aster LA
One of the newest clubs primed to open in the city of dreams is The Aster, a private members club and hotel that boasts a rooftop hotel, gym, movie theater, beauty salon and so much more. Feel free to take your morning meeting zoom call in their beautiful workspace and hop down to the fitness level for a quick intimate pilates-sesh, all with unbeatable views of the Capitol Records Building and the iconic Hollywood Sign. If you stick around late enough in the day, you’ll be free to catch the Old Hollywood vibes at The Cabaret. We can’t wait to see what talent will be on the stage next. Interestingly enough, there’s no major screening process for this new club so join while there’s not a year’s long waitlist!
Annual fees will set back members $3,600.
The West Side Tennis Club
If you are a tennis buff and live in NYC, The West Side Tennis Club is the must-have membership. The historic club that opened in 1892 and relocated to its current Queens location in 1908, boasts 40 tennis courts in all four surfaces (indoor and outdoor), a junior Olympic size heated swimming pool, tennis stadium and so much more, it is no wonder that the club was the previous home of the US Open Tennis Championships. Current individual yearly memberships start at $6,000, but even if you have six stacks laying around, getting approved will be a bit of a challenge unless you’re already friends with current members.
Heimat Fitness Club
In the city that’s as vain as it is gridlocked, having a gym membership is like having a driver’s license - absolutely necessary. The Los Angeles fitness wave just got way more fun with Hollywood's newest private gym, Heimat. It is 75,000-square-feet of luxurious fitness amenities, spa offerings, rooftop pool, a fully stocked bar (with alcohol, because hey why not), restaurants, and IV drips. Yes, you read that right - IV drips for those rave to rowing class type of mornings. It is a perfectly designed haven in the Hollywood hills for you to enjoy a 360-degree approach to a balanced lifestyle. If you are accepted, you will pay a monthly fee of $350.
San Vicente Bungalows
The San Vicente Bungalows opened up a few months before covid hit, but we still consider this private members club a newbie and a notable one! Annual dues start at $4,200 but just because you can cough up the cash doesn’t mean you will make it past their membership committee and be sipping a cocktail at the table next to John Mayer or Traces Ellis Ross. Good luck taking that secret selfie over your shoulder, all non-members are required to put stickers on the front and back of their phone cameras prior to entry.
The Ned Nomad
Brought to you by the CEO of Soho House, The Ned Nomad is their newest branch. Think of The Ned as Soho House’s smarter, more serious older brother (who wears ties). After the incredible success of The Ned in London, it is not surprising that they set their sights on another amazing city to expand. If you are an existing Soho House member, congratulations, you will be offered a discounted annual membership fee, if you are not, you can expect to fork up $5,000 annually plus an initiation fee, but then you get to enjoy the rooftop, four bars, two restaurants and so much more!
Zero Bond
For those who have been on a social media detox, Zero Bond has been the hottest venue for the past 2 years. Located at 0 Bond Street in NoHo, is a twenty-thousand square foot private membership club that celebrities have been flocking to. Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson were spotted here on one of their first dates, the NY Mayor parties here, and Gigi Hadid lives on the same block. It’s not surprising that the paparazzi are regularly lurking around but once you are past the velvet ropes, discretion is granted. Interested in joining? You’ll be added to a growing waitlist of more than 5000+ people. If you are lucky enough to get off the waitlist, the annual fees are $5,000 but are a little cheaper, $2,700, if you are under 28.
The Reading Club
Griffin Club - Los Angeles, CA
The Griffin Club is steeped with old Hollywood history, where previous members included Humphrey Bogart. It is currently a state-of-the-art members club where people come to play, relax, and enjoy. Featuring eight LED lighted tennis courts, two outdoor lap pools, and two levels of the clubhouse that are dedicated to fitness, including private personal training and a robust selection of daily group exercise programming, it has everything an active family could dream of (including summer camp for your little ones). Membership is offered by invitation only but if accepted the fees start at an $2,000 initiation fee and a $205 monthly fee.
The Fasano Fifth Avenue - New York City, NY
Arguably the most fabulous and exclusive of them all, The Fasano Fifth Avenue. Located on the Upper East Side with Central Park Views, the members-only private Club Hotel members can enjoy the suites, fitness center, restaurant, bar, sauna, and a show stopping outdoor terrace. Looking to leave the property and explore? No worries! You have access to a 24-hour concierge service, private shopping appointments with partner brands and VIP access to some of Christie’s top auctions and presale events, just to name a few.
