Foxglove - A Hong Kong Transporter Into The Golden Age of Jazz

Perfectly designed to impress, enchant, and transport you to the golden age of jazz is Hong Kong’s best kept secret; Foxglove, a speakeasy for those ready to indulge in delicious cocktails, bites and dance the evening away.

Tucked away behind the guise of a bespoke umbrella shop, Foxglove is where you come to shed your problems and leave them at the door, at least for a few hours. Nearly every day of the week, the exclusive speakeasy showcases the swankiest musical talents for you and your guests to enjoy alongside dinner and drinks. The jazz vocalists and their accompanying acts transport you to a different time when Instagram was non-existent, allowing you to indulge in the present moment.

The establishment opened their doors in November 2015 and has become known for their divine Cantonese cuisine where they serve a dim sum that can’t be missed. The decor resembles the vintage leather English inspired private jet of your dreams mixed with a classic train, and a yacht to compliment. These sentiments are reflected in the names of their dining areas, as the main dining room is referred to as the Main Hangar and the VIP area referred to as the Orient Express Cabin. Even the bathrooms will have you second guessing if you are aboard a ship after a few drinks!

The menu offers guests a wide array of options, but the true standout is the bar’s impressive vintage cognac collection for you to enjoy. As Foxglove proclaims, their, ‘carefully crafted cocktail menu pays homage to a bygone time when spirits were king and bartenders revered.’

The space was designed by local Hong Kong architect Nelson Chow Chi-Wai, founder and principal at NC Design & Architects and has been described by the Foxglove team as "a fantasy world inspired by the globe-trotting adventures of an English gentleman and is named after his love's favorite (but potentially deadly) flower.”

Next time you are in Hong Kong, be sure to swing by Foxglove for a fabulous time!
