Audrey Hepburn’s Best Fashion Moments Ever

Audrey Hepburn; a ballet dancer turned actress, turned fashion icon and a global humanitarian redefined born in Brussels in 1929. Her beauty and style continue to transcend time and she remains the epitome of class. Audrey had an incredible film career, with classics such as My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Roman Holiday, winning awards and accolades from critics and viewers alike. She remains one of 16 people to achieve EGOT status: winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar & Tony awards. Audrey devoted the later years of her life to being a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, traveling across the world raising awareness and funds for those in need. In 1992, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor for her efforts and contributions. Unfortunately, Audrey would pass away a month later at the young age of 63 at her home in Switzerland from appendiceal cancer. While she was taken from her family and the world far too early, her legacy in film, fashion and humanitarianism remains as strong as ever. There are many life lessons we can take from Audrey, such as the power of strong silhouettes in fashion, unapologetically being our authentic goofy selves, giving back to those less fortunate, and the power of the ‘little black dress’, aka LBD.

To celebrate her life, we are looking back at her most unforgettable fashion moments on and off the big screen!

1954, Sabrina

This dress is the perfect example of a high-low hem line. In the film, Audrey’s character makes her high-society debut. It remains one of the most recognizable dresses in cinema history, for good reason. What a way to make a debut!

1957, Funny Face

This poppy and citrus-toned dress had a major fashion resurgence a few years ago as it is fresh and fabulous! Kris Jenner and her granddaughter, Penelope, even have an adorable matching fashion moment in very similar dresses.

1957, Funny Face

Waltzing down the stairs at the Louvre in Paris in a crimson gown and fabulous scarf adorned with diamonds… is there anything more divine?! No.

1961,, Breakfast At Tiffany’s

Givenchy LBD dress, pearls, gloves, and a tiara?! Possibly one of the chicest and most recognizable outfits, it had to top our list. After audiences saw this outfit, a LBD became every woman’s closet staple.

1961, Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Not exactly a full outfit, but a fashionable moment nonetheless! If you are in the market for a new sleeping eye-mask, take cues from this one.

1964, My Fair Lady

When someone says horse racing style, reference this image of Audrey in character attending the Ascot races in this over-the-top fabulous ensemble!

1964, My Fair Lady

Another unforgettable outfit from Audrey’s film, My Fair Lady, which may look familiar because Kendall Jenner used this as inspiration for her 2021 Met Gala dress.

1966, How to Steal a Million

How this outfit is not more replicated at costume parties, we will never understand! Black lace from head-to-toe, this is one of our absolute favorite outfits Audrey has worn on or off the screen.

1968, JFK Airport

The epitome of airport style! Classic, chic, and comfortable.

1969, Audrey’s wedding to Andrea Dotti

At the time, this dress was considered a risky mini length which she styled with a matching headscarf for her nuptials at the townhall in Morges, Switzerland.

1988, Lifetime Achievement Awards in California

A daring and fabulous Givenchy feather dress that Audrey wore to the Lifetime Achievement Awards where the designer was being honored.
