Where To See and Be Seen This Fall: New York City Restaurants and Bars

For anyone who has spent time away from New York City, they know that the big apple is always so energizing. With its constant “bursting at the seams” energy, and a steady flow of bright eyed talent and young professionals every year, the city never really gets old. That being said, some of our favorite NY restaurants are staple iconic eateries (hello, Polo Bar and Bemelman’s!), but with a new wave of diners in town - we’re discovering the newest buzziest spots in the city. Check out the 5 sceney-est places for this Fall!

The New Celebrity Hideout: The Lobby Bar

The Lobby Bar at The Hotel Chelsea (Chelsea) 222 West Twenty-Third Street New York, N. Y. 10011

There’s something about haunted hotels and celebrity hangouts that just work. Don’t call this a one hit wonder, from Chateau Marmont in LA to The Bowery in New York’s LES, actors and musicians seem to love their fair share of dark hotel bars and slightly dilapidated decor. That being said, The Lobby Bar at the newly renovated (can we call it that?) Hotel Chelsea is sure to be the hangout for hungover celebs doing interviews for Porter magazine. The bar features irresistible menu items like Dirty Martini Oysters and Caviar Chips which means we’ll be drinking plenty and snacking light. Sounds ok with us!

The Grown Up Bachelor: The Nines

The Nines (Noho) 9 Great Jones St, New York, NY 10012

It looks like ACME has grown up, gotten hitched and maybe had a kid! The Nines is a swanky piano bar and restaurant spot that seems to check all of our boxes. With lavish European bites and great martinis, the food, although delish, is second to the vibe created with plush red walls and a velvet sound coming from the spot’s baby grand piano. Definitely worth checking out!

The Provocateur: Casa Cruz

Casa Cruz (UES), 36 E 61st St, New York, NY 10065

We love when people fight with the press, especially when the fight is between a restaurant and The Post. While it seems that Casa Cruz is not playing nice with the public and reserving their tables for investors and Chanel Ambassadors, we can’t help but wonder if something is amiss. Perhaps a soft opening needed to be extended due to some… logistic issues? It’s an Upper East Side drama that only Dan Humprey may be able to solve. As for us? We’ll be waiting patiently for our invite to eat at Casa Cruz. Maybe if its before the others we’ll forgive you for the overused palm leaf motifs!

The Phoenix: Balthazar

Balthazar (Soho) 80 Spring St NYC

Unless you live under a rock, there was ZERO chance that you missed out on all the news of James Corden’s epic omlette meltdown and Keith McNally’s publicity opportunity. Fortune favors the bold in this showdown, as Baltazar returns to top of mind as one of the chicest without trying french eateries in the city. If the Steak Frites is good enough for Anna Wintour, its good enough for us.

Literally Cannot Get A Table: Caviar Kaspia

Caviar Kaspia (UES) 25 E 77th St, New York, NY 10075

Paris Fashion Week is coming to NYC! As updated by WWD, Caviar Kaspia is set to land in the ultra chic Mark Hotel this Fall 2022. The fashion flock are sure to be seen wearing their season’s best while enjoying a decadent carb that once was only enjoyed 4 times a year (6 if you’re doing the couture shows). Let’s just say the last time Caviar Kaspia had a pop up in New York, the Olsen Twins were seen throwing back chilled vodka shots and stumbling out of Spring Studios. Re: Tips for getting a table? I’d say it may be easier to score a coveted invite to Lauren Santo Domingo’s dinner party. We hear she’s serving baked potatoes and caviar too.
